The flood of 1937
A postcard of the flood of 1937, the worst of the floods, there was a third that wasn't quite as bad in 1996.

The Milton bridge
A rather old picture of the milton bridge, I'm not sure exactly how old but hopefully not too because it still looks basically the same.

The Trimble dike
We used to have a dike here in Trimble county, we don't anymore, I think it was destroied when the river froze. I kept the water level a little at bay and provided both a dock and a walk way for the people.

The Trimble Ferry stuck in the ice
OoOoOo! A picture of two major happenings in one. This is the Trimble ferry, which has disappeared off into the blue somewhere. In this picture the ferry is stuck in the water the year the Ohio river froze over.
It was a very cold winter and because the river froze over people began going out onto the ice and selling liquor and setting up casinos on the river. Because no one owned the river then it wasn't illegal.
So Ohio and Kentucky spilt up the river and now Kentucky owns most of it and must provide money for any repairs to bridges or any other costs that the river has.
